There are so many aspects of business that can be taught… There are many lessons out there that can change your business and aid you in productivity or efficiency.

You can also learn about marketing and targeting the proper audience at the right time and in the best possible manner. Managing, organization, customer/client relations, … ultimately the list goes on and on. There is so much to learn and no matter how great or successful you are, there is always things you can improve on.

And you should never stop… continue learning more and more all the time.

But what more of a challenge to attain is ambition, passion, and determination.

These are three things that are truly indispensable in the growth and prosperity of a new business venture. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, these do not come as easy.

Mom always taught me from the time I was little that “can’t” was a bad word. I was never allowed to say it. She believed that it was a word that held us back… She always told me that I could do anything. I have always known this to be a true thing… We can accomplish anything if we truly want to. If we are determined to do something, it can happen.

And that is where things become a little more challenging… far too often, people lack ambition or determination. Ambition is the drive you need to start something in the first place while determination is the drive you need to keep going in light of adversity… and believe me, there will always be adversity. These are attributes that are far more difficult to develop but they can… they just need proper motivation.

Now passion… comes from within… If you are lacking in the area of passion, you have got to have compensate by sheer determination until you can move on to something to which you have a passion for. The idea is that sometimes in business, you do what you must until you can devote yourself to what you love.

Do not allow things to be in your way, you have the potential to grow your own business and take to levels never imagined. You must be ambitious enough to take the initial steps in the first place… then have the determination to keep fighting for this business. Don’t allow things to stifle your journey… when things arise in your way, you fight back harder. If you are unable to do what it is you truly have a passion for and earn a living doing so at this time, do what you must to position yourself to where you can do it… there is always a way. Get there.

You hold the key to your future. In addition, never stop learning. There is always more to learn.

Believe in yourself… believe in your business… Get Cocky.

Confident, loud, and proud… These are just words if you don’t embody them in your work…

In whatever business you are doing, it is important that you are confident in yourself and your business. You need to know what it is you are doing and where you stand; with that comes confidence in your mission and what you’re doing. This is crucial to the success of your business.
Don’t allow anything to stifle you; you must be strong in your process and the steps you are taking.

Haters gonna hate… let ‘em hate.

You’re gonna be told that you shouldn’t do what you’re doing or that you should get something more secure for your future. Because they lack confidence, don’t allow them to break you.

You may hear how you are a fool or reckless or even irresponsible… these are all just words from an outsider’s perspective. You’ve got a plan, you’ve got a mission, and business model in place… You know where you are going and what you are doing. Don’t lose that… Be confident.

Tell everyone… tell them wherever and whenever you see them or hear from them. Go out of your way to find those you haven’t told and tell them. There’s no shame in your game… just keep spittin’ it.

When you are an entrepreneur, you have to be a shameless self-promoter. DJ Khaled has to be one of the all-time greatest self-promoters ever! He is a dj, rapper, producer, and a promoter He is actually really great at all of them but he takes promoting to a new level… Every song that he is featured on as well as many he produces, he shouts his name as well as his record label. As of the last year or so, he has actually began referring to himself as “Father of Ahsad” and shouts that in his songs. His son is Ahsad and is now the president of his record label and that’s the name of his latest album. This is a man who has built a billion dollar empire and past it on to his son at the age of two years old and he takes a lot of pride in promoting his business as well as his son. He has made sure that his name is known even if you are not a fan of his music. He also uses product placement with many of his investments as well as some of his friends’ investments in the music videos he produces.

Many people have a problem doing this… they get intimidated or just feel uncomfortable. You must become comfortable with promoting yourself and your brand.

The more who know you, the more your business can grow. This will continue to expand the potential of your business and client base in whatever you do. This is important. Take some pride in your business and in yourself.

You have to be willing to do what it takes to get your business out there and develop not just the brand for yourself but a presence for your brand.

“I’m going to have so many packages to mail out every day,” Corey II sad to me the other day. It was such a proud moment.

Corey and Colton both talk to me all the time about my work which is so awesome. They are only 4 and 5 and they are interested in what Daddy is doing which to those of you who are moms and dads know that is something so special. I love that they want to know. It is a great feeling, but I also want to teach them so they will be able to make great choices with their life based on my experience and knowledge, they will not go through the things I have put myself through; they will be smarter and wiser.

The other day, I found myself amidst a great conversation with my boys. They were in the back seat and telling me about my work. So, as you may already know, one of my many business practices is a reselling business. I have three different online stores that I buy/sell and flip products all the time. My boys are very well aware of this; they have gone with me to many auctions and gone with me to buy new products and even helped package things to be shipped out. Mostly Corey has been interested, but he is older… Colton has shown interest but not on the level that Corey has.

….so, back to our conversation… They were telling me about my work… Corey was telling me how he had lots of work to do this week. I responded expressing that I had much to do as well… Corey proceeded to explain how he had all these packages to get out and so much work to do. I asked him if he would like to work with Daddy. He said, “yes.” I told him that I could teach him and Colton what I do, and they could help me. One day I could be there job. Corey responded, “I’m going to have so many packages to mail out every day.” I was so proud that he knew he could do it and although he didn’t completely process it all, he was confident in his success as well.

Truthfully, if you have gotten started building your business at an earlier stage in life, before you have a family and children, you have nothing on your plate and no excuses for not reaching great success…. But if you already have a family and children, you have something greater that you are fighting for. You are growing and developing all of this for them. They deserve you giving all you’ve got to your business… In no way am I saying to neglect time with them as that is crucially vital. But do not allow your business to suffer because of it. Dig deep, forgo sleep, rest and leisure, and fight and build this company.

Grow your business not just for you, but for them. Even if they chose to walk their own path; having seen you grow your business, will teach them discipline as well as ambition and so much more. They will learn from your actions and the way you grow with your business.

You are growing more than a business… more than an empire… You are growing a legacy to pass on to your little ones as they grow.
